Peony Myra MacRae

Peony 'Myra MacRae'

Description

Paeonia lactiflora 'Myra MacRae' was awarded the Gold Medal by the 'American Peony Society' in 1998, a well-deserved recognition of its exceptionally beautiful  flowers, elegantly set above the dark green healthy foliage.

This variety was bred by Robert Tishler (1911 – 2007 Minn. USA), a peony grower and nurseryman who was looking for strong growing and exceptional varieties. The large, double flowers are a distinctive shade of pink, beautifully formed and fragrant. Despite its sturdy habit, minimal support is recommended in adverse weather conditions.

This late flowering variety with its multiple flower buds is definitely a welcome addition to any flower border.

Registered in 1967.
