Itoh or intersectional hybrid peonies are landscape plants par excellence. If you are looking for a not so ordinary contour along a path; a uniform block in a trendy design; a hedge in harmony with our seasons. These are just some ideas to get started with Itoh peonies.

An Itoh or intersectional hybrid peony is a cross between a tree and an herbaceous peony. The foliage and flowers reveal their tree peony ancestry. Their growth pattern, however, is similar to the herbaceous peony. Foliage remains healthy until the first frost.

You can combine Itoh peonies in a flower border with other lovelies, just make sure that the peonies don't get overcrowded. We recommend an average distance of 75cm to 1 meter between plants, so you need approximately 4 square meters for 6 peonies. For more advise on how to grow beautiful peonies click here.
