Peony 'Myrtle Gentry'

Description

Paeonia lactiflora 'Myrtle Gentry'. An old fashioned variety from the Roaring Twenties. Large, blousy, double flowers give off an enticing fragrance that will keep you coming back for more! Pale pink petals with hints of apricot and cream gradually fade to pure white. The flower shape is refined with large rounded petals.

Myrtle Gentry is often described as the most fragrant peony of all. The stems are strong and support the large flowers well above the foliage. Depending on its position in the garden it may need some support. A very late variety.

Registered by the 'American Peony Society' in 1925.

'Royal Horticultural Society' Award of Garden Merit.
