Peony Early Glow

Peony 'Early Glow'

Description

Paeonia herbaceous hybrid 'Early Glow'. The buds open pale yellow and fade to translucent ivory. Several rows enclose a heart of yellow stamens and red-tipped stigmas. As beautiful as the moon and as complex as we earthlings, a cross between P. 'Roselette's Child' (P. lactiflora x P. mlokosewitschi x P. tenuifolia)  x P. 'Cream Delight'.

Several lateral buds prolong the flowering period. Pollen-bearing stamens are a plus for the bees. Numerous seed pods filled with a wealth of seeds are a bonus for those wishing to grow new offspring. Avocado green foliage and sturdy stems make this an ideal garden plant. The growth habit is slightly spreading, requiring up to one square metre per plant. The combination with other peonies or flowers in warm or pink tones the combination is stunning!

Registered with the American Peony Society in 1992.
