Peony Florence Nicholls

Peony 'Florence Nicholls'

Description

Paeonia lactiflora 'Florence Nicholls'.

Very large, double, rose-shaped flower. The petals have a mother-of-pearl colour when open and fade gently to white. The lovely fragrance is inherited from P. 'Madame Calot', one of the parent plants. Strong upright stems with some side buds which extend the flowering season. Flowers may require some support, but the sight of a plant in full bloom is more than worth the effort.

Registered in 1938.

'Royal Horticultural Society' Award of Garden Merit.
