Peony 'Pink Vanguard'

Description

Paeonia herbaceous hybrid “Pink Vanguard”.

Opaque pink, semi-double, cup-shaped flowers are held above a dome of lush green foliage. The sturdy stems are completely covered in large, glossy leaves that stay pristine long after the flowering season has ended.

During our open field days in 2014, when a cold snap delayed the flowering of most varieties, Pink Vanguard exceeded our expectations. It is frost resistant, early flowering and fragrant, and requires no staking. These qualities impressed our visitors. During the tour, everyone sniffed the flowers, and 80% confirmed the lingering scent of cloves.

Needless to say, this variety has an excellent pedigree and promises more beauties to come!

Registered with the American Peony Society in 2005 by Donald Hollingsworth.
