Peony 'Cytherea'

Peony 'Cytherea'

Description

Paeonia herbaceous hybrid 'Cytherea'. The flowers' intense, candy-coloured hues gradually fade to soft pink and ivory. They open one by one, adorning the plant with their array of colours. The large flowers sit in perfect semicircles above the compact, solid green foliage, requiring no support. This peony is ideal for growing in the garden or for displaying in a vase.

Cytherea is better known as Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of love and beauty, and her Roman counterpart Venus. Myrtles, doves, sparrows, horses and swans were reportedly sacred to her.
