Peony 'Singing in the Rain'

Peony 'Singing in the Rain'

Description

Paeonia Itoh "Singing in the Rain". This is a memorable peony with a fitting name, which came about when Don Smith was showing visitors around his seedling collection in the pouring rain. Of course, the visitors wanted to know the name of this splendid variety, which seemed unaffected by the weather. The first thing that came to mind was 'Singin' in the Rain'. And it stuck.

The flowers are symmetrical and softly scented. Their colour ranges from soft pink to orange. This plant is very generous. The main flowers and side buds are the same size, creating an opulent display of harmonising colours. They stand out against the dome-shaped plant's tree peony-like foliage.

Registered with the APS in 2002.
