Description
Paeonia lactiflora 'Prairie Star'. The name was not chosen at random. The Japanese flowers on tall stems wave gently in the breeze, mimicking the beauty of the open prairie.
The perfectly sized flowers are composed of milky white petals enclosing a soft, fluffy centre. Multiple side buds ensure a profusion of flowers and adorn this hardy, vigorous variety. This variety will grow into a broad shrub and certainly deserves a place in any garden.
Seedling of P. 'Shaylor's Sunburst' x unknown pollen
Registered in 2002.
