Description

Paeonia lactiflora 'Sarah Bernhardt'. A profusion of varying shades of pink, highlighted by crimson-tinged petals at the centre of the full double flower. Three to four flowers per stem prolong the flowering period. Slightly fragrant. The large flowers need some support.

It is the best selling cut flower peony and is named after the famous actress Sarah Bernhardt (1844 - 1923). Celebrated on both sides of the Atlantic for her roles as Marguerite in 'La Dame aux Camelias' and Cordelia in 'King Lear'.

'Royal Horticultural Society' Award of Garden Merit 1993.

Registered in 1906.
