Peony 'Le Cygne'

Peony 'Le Cygne'

Description

Paeonia lactiflora 'Le Cygne' is a peony that exudes grace and beauty, much like a swan. Its ivory buds open to pure white, very large, perfect double flowers. The stems are strong, though they may require mechanical support to hold the heavy clusters of fragrant flowers.

This peony is in a select group that has won the American Peony Society Convention Best in Show – Grand Champion three times. In 1926, 1956 and 1960.

'American Peony Society' Court of Honour Best White Lactiflora by Hollingsworth Nursery in 2011.

Registered in 1907 by Emile Lemoine, one year after he registered the famous P. 'Sarah Bernhardt'.
